Miscellaneous

By Eve Chancellor
two black pens a yellow highlighter
without the lid
                          an unpublished manuscript
two packets of sertraline
                           a cheap shaving razor
and band-aids
                              a used condom
                              a cheeky cigarette
my old debit card
       eleven euros in change
a dozen ghosts a childhood friend

a one-way flight ticket to Australia
a Canadian visa

wasted days misplaced hours

a letter of apology
             my mother’s maiden name

an umbrella
                       left on the train

a human heart broken
                                   beating
