Apricot Press is a free, online literary journal publishing poetry, short stories, flash fiction and essays.

Named after the apricot, which derives its name from the Latin for ‘early-ripening fruit’, we are dedicated to publishing the new, fresh and exciting work of emerging writers. We are particularly committed to providing a platform for underrepresented writers.

We are an intersectional platform accepting work from writers of all backgrounds, and we are keen to publish as diversely as possible.

We accept submissions of poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction essays for each of our themes (announced on our website and social media). Learn more about how to submit to us on our submissions page.

We hope that, together, we can create an inclusive and welcoming space in which to celebrate each other’s writing.
