Ginkgo Biloba
By Bex Hainsworth
Living fossil, unchanged
for 200 million years.
Survivor of cataclysm,
roots clutch bactrosaurus
bones. They outlasted
the animals that once
dispersed their seeds.
Ginkgos adapt, persist.
Some trees are over
1,500 years old.
This year has been hard,
but the earth is urging
me to endure.
